A common spatial selection.
Observed spatial distribution and the corresponding simulation sample after three-dimensional resampling to match the observational selection in position space.
THE RESEARCH QUESTION
How does a bar
reshape a Galaxy?
This project investigates a rotating stellar component in the Galactic bulge and halo using classification applied to Gaia DR3. Test-particle simulations provide a framework for interpreting angular-momentum transfer from a decelerating Galactic bar.
The diagnostics connect the simulated distribution to the observational sample: first through spatial resampling, then through the neural-network selection.
